شعارنا الدين لله وأنا المصري للجميع . أنا المصري يهدف معكم لجمع المادة المؤسسة لبواكير التسجيلات الموسيقيةفي مصر وجمع - ولنقل محاولة - وانقاذ ما تبقى من المادة الفنية المنتجة في الفترة من 1896 الى 1950 وسواء كانت تلك المادة مسموعة أو مكتوبة أو مرئية - متحركة, فهي موضوع هام نسعى بدأب للحصول عليها وتنقيتها لتصبح متاحة للمستمع وللهاوي وللدارس . نسعى للتعاون والتكامل مع الجميع ممن يؤمنون بإنسانية الفن وشموليته ولا نعترض الا على العنصري وعلى من يستغل أنا المصري لأية أهداف سياسية أو دينية أو عرقية

An initiative of an Egyptian, Mohamed Ashour, this website consists of an extensive archive of Egyptian songs, plays, rare films and photographs covering the period from 1896 to 1940. It is also a forum for exchange of ideas. Most of all, it is part of Mohamed Ashour's great dream to recover what is for him the real face of Egypt, an Egypt that is home to all Egyptians, regardless of their religious affiliations. As the world community becomes increasingly polarized and life is reduced to a black and white palette, this period represents a ray of hope that people can live together in all the richness and color of their differences.
